Questions about moving in Munich
How much does a move in Munich cost?
It depends on your moving volume, the floors, the long carry and the distance. Loading and unloading cost €12.50 per m³ each; travel and moving distance cost €3 per km. For example, a 1-bedroom apartment (25 m³) moving within Munich from floor 3 above ground without an elevator to floor 2 above ground with an elevator comes to about €944 (see the sample calculation). The minimum charge is €450.
How are floors counted?
We count floors the German way: the ground floor (Erdgeschoss) is floor 0, and floor 1 is the first floor above ground (what Americans call the 2nd floor). Without a suitable elevator, we charge a fee per m³ for every floor from floor 1 above ground: €3 when moving out and €4 when moving in. With a suitable elevator, floor 1 is included in the base rate; from floor 2 above ground each floor costs €1 per m³.
What does “long carry from the apartment door” mean?
We measure the distance from your apartment door to the truck, not from the building entrance. In large apartment complexes, the apartment is often another 30 to 40 meters from the entrance. A carry of less than 15 m is included in the base rate; from 15 m we charge €2 per m³.
How do I figure out my moving volume?
As a rough guide, allow about 10 m³ per room. The inventory list in the price calculator gives you a more precise number. If you’re not sure, we’re happy to estimate the volume with you.
Do you move from Munich to other cities?
Yes. We move you from Munich and the surrounding area to anywhere in Germany and bring your belongings from anywhere in Germany to Munich. For long-distance moves with an overnight stay, a lodging fee of €50 per mover per night is added.
Is the estimated price binding?
